The ceremonial closing of the City student engineering and computer graphics competition took place in Novosibirsk on March, 25. This contest started with initiative of the Novosibirsk State Technical University several years ago. Within the framework of the event Prototypster awarded the winners in the «Prototyping» nomination.

Student teams from the various universities were the nomination participants. The main task was to model a cup for the contest. The students had to create the concept of a cup and then to make it as a model for 4 hours. It was also important to meet the requirements of 3D printing for polyamide.
Totally there were 4 universities presented 6 teams at the competition: the Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU), the Novosibirsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (Sibstrin), Novosibirsk Technological Institute branch of the MGUDT (NTIMGUDT), the Siberian Transport University (STU).
It was not so easy to decide on the winners. The standards for evaluation were the conformity with the specification requirements, original design and, of course, compliance with 3D printing requirements. The first and the second places gone to the NSTU teams and the STU team got the third prize.

All the winners got their 3D printed cups as rewards. As well as each of the winner team member got the Prototypster certificates for 3D printing: the 1st place was 4000 rubles, the 2nd for 2000 rubles and the 3rd – 1500 rubles. Also the jury honored the NTIMGUDT team with incentive prize for the unique idea.

The International student engineering and computer graphics competition will start on March, 30. The nomination of «Prototyping» is included to the program of the event for the first time. The students will compete to prove their professionalism in projecting and constructing of the working prototype. Follow the news!
